Carn Mor Dearg sits right next to Ben Nevis and although it is the 9th highest mountain itself, it really is in the shadow of the Big Ben. The two mountains are linked by the excellent Carn Mor Dearg arete. Although a long day out an ascent of Carn Mor Dearg combined with Ben Nevis via the arete is one of the classic days out in Scotland. Even better if you get good weather for it!
