MUNRO CENTRAL
Ben Starav
| Location: | NN125427 |
| Height: | 1078 m 3537 ft |
Ben Starav is a fine mountain that rises prominently from Glen Etive, it's a difficult mountain to miss. Access is easy, short and straightforward from Glen Etive, but there is significant height gain - Glen Etive is essentially sea at level.
You would typically do Ben Starav with either Beinn nan Aighenan and/or Glas Bheinn Mhor; it's a little bit awkward because Beinn nan Aighenan hides behind the Ben Starav/Glas Bheinn Mhor ridge. A day combining all three is possible, and even recommended, but it's also a long day with a lot of re-ascent.
The summit and the ridge itself is quite stony, which become very slippy when wet, most can however easily be avoided.
