Cairn Toul forms part of the ridge stretching from Braeriach to The Devil's Point. The best way to reach it from a day walk is from Linn of Dee, but it is such a high and remote mountain that you really should consider either staying in the bothy in the Lairig Ghru or camping in the Lairig Ghru-the full ridge is worth completing in it entirety.
